First Response Emergency Care level 3 (FREC 3) is a 5 day pre-hospital care course that is  specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance services, the event medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces.

FREC 3 is also a regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification that is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D.

RTACC however is designed to meet the specific casualty care needs of the emergency services and high-risk industries, providing tried and tested life-saving skills in a 3 day course. RTACC offers a highly focused, well researched and totally current emergency care course for individuals who may potentially face casualties with life threatening trauma and medical conditions.

RTACC is a also a accredited course that meets the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care (FPHC), Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) guidelines level E of The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (one level higher than FREC). Candidates will be empowered to manage serious medical and trauma emergencies in an immersive and engaging manner, developing knowledge, real-world skills and confidence.

RTACC guides the learner to identify and manage time critical injuries with appropriate interventions. Hands-on experience, live actors, casualty simulation and short highly focused lectures providing the perfect balance of theoretical and practical learning.

We have delivered both suites of courses and find RTACC to be a far superior course in terms of course syllabus, background and objective.

FTACC is a new evolution in first aid, providing learners with first aid skills in a new and innovative way, now adopted successfully throughout the emergency services and first aid community. FTACC is a long overdue revolution in the world of First Aid and replaces generations of often mundane and un-stimulating courses that people have previously experienced.

Gone are the days of ‘tick box’ first aid! FTACC is very different. The adoption and retention of lifesaving skills is vital to sustain our communities as society grows older, first aid courses must be informative, engaging and proven to empower responders in making an immediate difference. FTACC exceeds the minimum standards set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and uses a unique new approach to identify and treat the ill and injured.

FTACC is a accredited course that meets the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care (FPHC), Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) guidelines level B of The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and is equivalent to Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) and First Aid at Work (FAW).

The Integrated Emergency Care Programme (IECP) progresses candidates from a basic to advanced level of pre-hospital training. IECP is a progressive and systematic pathway to enhancing skills and empowering people to save lives. The IECP starts with our First Aid, Trauma and Casualty Care course and ends with the Anaesthesia Trauma Critical Care (ATACC) course.

ATACC is currently the most advanced trauma course available worldwide.

Yes.

As of October 1st 2021 anyone applying for a SIA licence will need to have undertaken a first-aid or ‘equivalent’ qualification. All of our Immediate Emergency Care Programme qualifications meets the requirements of the SIA for close protection officers and fulfils the SIA first aid requirements to obtain a Level 3 SIA license.

This is a common question we are asked by first responders and it all comes down to a few key factors.

If you’re at higher risk of being exposed to casualties with time critical injuries/illnesses then we would suggest the RTACC course as this has more content within its’ syllabus and is delivered over 3 days rather than BTACCs’ 2 days. BTACC is a great entry level for individuals who have some experience in pre-hospital care as a first responder.
